BUILD2012 was held from Oct 30 to Nov 02, 2012 on the Microsoft Campus (Redmond, WA). It was a few days after Microsoft officially released Windows 8 on October 26, 2012.

How to sell your apps in the Windows 8 Store and make money. The news was all about the delivery of Microsoft’s Windows Phone 8 Software Development Kit (SDK).
To thank the fans, Microsoft announced that each attendee would receive a 32GB Microsoft Surface RT with a Touch Cover and a new Nokia Lumia 920 Windows Phone 8-powered smartphone.
BUILD 2012 Day 1 Keynote by Steve Ballmer, CEO, Steve Guggenheimer, corporate vice president and chief evangelist, developer & platform evangelism and Kevin Gallo, director of program management, Windows Phone. They showcased the developer opportunities on Windows 8 and discussed momentum in the Windows Store with partners like Disney, LEGO, PayPal, Dropbox, and ESPN all demonstrating their latest Windows 8 apps.
BUILD 2012 Day 2 Keynote by Satya Nadella, president of Microsoft’s Server & Tools Business at that time. He speaks to thousands of developers about Windows taking developers across devices and into the cloud. Additional keynote presenters included Scott Guthrie, corporate vice president; Scott Hanselman, principal program manager; Dave Campbell, Microsoft Technical Fellow; Jason Zander, corporate vice president of development for the Windows Azure; Josh Twist, senior program manager, Windows Azure.
